Benzai ("the App") is developed by Hikari Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

When you install and use Benzai, we automatically collect:

Creating a Benzai Account is optional. The App is fully functional without one; account data is only collected if you choose to sign up.

All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (EU-Central-1, Frankfurt) and transmitted via HTTPS.

2. How We Use This Information

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for advertising or profiling.

3. Data Retention

Telemetry events are retained for up to 12 months. Crash reports are retained for up to 6 months.

Benzai Account data (email, library, profile) is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App. Deletion is permanent and immediate — all account data, including synced playlists, liked songs, and history, is erased from our servers. Local data on your device is not affected.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process anonymous telemetry data under our legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable application (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We process Benzai Account data (email, library, profile) on the basis of contract — you provide this data to receive the sync service you requested (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
